Nélida Odnoposoff was born in Buenos Aires on April 4, 1919. She and her two brothers, Ricardo, and Adolfo, showed great aptitude as musicians, and she studied piano in Buenos Aires with Edmundo Piazzini before the family relocated to Berlin. In Berlin, she continued her studies with Hansi Freudberg, and made her debut as a concert pianist in Berlin in 1935. Adolfo Odnoposoff was born on February 22, 1917, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied cello with Alberto Schiuma, Emanuel Feurermann in Berlin, and with Diran Alexanian in Paris. He then performed as a cellist in Mandatory Palestine, Peru, Chile, and Havana, Cuba where he met his wife, pianist Berthe Huberman. Berthe Huberman de Odnoposoff was a concert pianist, and served on the faculty of the College of Music along with her husband, cellist Adolfo Odnoposoff (1917-1992). Her obituary in the July 10, 2019 Denton Record-Chronicle traces the Odnoposoffs' extensive travels which ultimately brought them to Denton: Berthe Huberman was born in Paris to parents who had emigrated from Poland.
